The previous wall on this property was built out of those pre-made concrete bags you stack up like big sandbags. They worked for a few years, then started to go. Homeowner wanted something that wasn't going to fail again and would actually look good — so we went with a natural boulder wall. Big blast rock boulders, trucked in, placed one at a time with the excavator. We locked them in tight, let the weight of the stone do the structural work, and finished the edges so it looks like it's always been there. Lower maintenance than engineered walls and honestly way better looking.
